WORKSHOP DETAILS

Our November 7 workshop is currently full! You can still join the waitlist below, and we’ll reach out if a spot becomes available.

Wired Young was created to give kids early, hands-on exposure to the electrical trade in a safe, supervised, and encouraging environment.

This first workshop is designed as an introduction to electrical fundamentals for kids ages 8–12. We’ll start with the basics, including safety, common electrician tools, what electricity is, and what conduit is used for.

From there, kids will get hands-on experience learning how conduit is measured, cut, and bent.

The goal is to make the experience educational, approachable, and fun while giving kids the chance to try real trade skills in an age-appropriate setting.

This is our first Wired Young workshop, and we’re excited to learn from the experience, continue improving the program, and explore future workshops and enrichment opportunities as Wired Young grows.

WHAT THEY’LL LEARN + DO

This introductory workshop gives kids a supervised, hands-on introduction to the electrical trade. We’ll start with the basics, then move into real skills electricians use every day.

• What is electricity? — A simple, age-appropriate introduction to electricity and how it works.

• Electrical safety — Basic safety, PPE, and the importance of safe habits.

• Everyday electrician tools — An introduction to common tools electricians use and what they’re used for.

• Conduit basics — What conduit is, why electricians use it, and where you might see it.

• Measure + cut conduit — Kids will learn how conduit is measured and get hands-on experience cutting it.

• Bend conduit — Kids will learn the basics of conduit bending and get to try shaping conduit themselves.

WAIVER & MEDIA

Because this is a hands-on electrical workshop, all parents or legal guardians will be required to review and accept our participation waiver before registration is complete.

The waiver covers workshop safety, supervision, tool use, emergency response, medical information, food allergies, parent/guardian presence, unregistered siblings and guests, and participation in hands-on activities.

Wired Young is not a drop-off event. A parent or legal guardian must remain on site for the duration of the workshop.

If your child has any food allergies, medical considerations, safety concerns, or activities you do not want them to participate in, please notify Wired Young before the workshop begins.

PHOTO + VIDEO

Wired Young events may be photographed and video recorded for use on Wired Young and illectric, Inc. websites, social media, marketing, promotional content, and educational materials.

Please be aware that the workshop itself will be photographed and/or video recorded throughout the event. Because this is a group, hands-on environment, we cannot guarantee that a child will never appear incidentally in raw event footage.

During registration, you will be asked whether you give permission for your child to be intentionally photographed, filmed, featured, or identified in publicly used content.

If media permission is declined, we may place a discreet marker on your child’s name badge so staff and photographers know not to intentionally photograph, film, interview, feature, or identify them.

Declining media permission will not affect your child’s ability to participate in the workshop.

If a child without media permission is incidentally captured in the background or during a group activity, Wired Young will make reasonable efforts to crop, blur, obscure, or otherwise prevent the child from being identifiable before that content is publicly shared or used.

WIRED YOUNG PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT, ASSUMPTION OF RISK, RELEASE OF LIABILITY, PARENT/GUARDIAN CONSENT, AND EVENT POLICIES
In consideration for my child being permitted to participate in the Wired Young hands-on electrical workshop and related activities (the “Program”), I, as the parent or legal guardian of the minor participant identified in this registration, acknowledge, understand, and agree to the following:
1. Program and Released Parties
The Program is presented by illectric, Inc., doing business as Wired Young, together with its owners, officers, directors, employees, instructors, volunteers, agents, contractors, sponsors, vendors, property owners, facility operators, affiliates, successors, and assigns (collectively, the “Released Parties”).
2. Nature of Activities
I understand that the Program may include supervised, age-appropriate demonstrations and hands-on activities involving electrical-trade concepts and tools, including electrical safety, personal protective equipment, common hand tools, measuring, cutting and bending conduit, tool demonstrations, materials handling, basic electrical concepts, and other related instructional activities.
I understand that the specific activities, tools, demonstrations, instructors, schedule, and materials may be modified, substituted, limited, or discontinued for safety, operational, staffing, equipment, facility, or other reasonable reasons.
3. Acknowledgment and Assumption of Risk
I understand that participation in hands-on trade activities involves inherent and other risks, including but not limited to cuts, scrapes, abrasions, splinters, bruises, pinching or crushing injuries, muscle strains, falls, eye injuries, contact with tools or materials, accidental contact with other participants, and other injuries.
I understand that even with supervision, safety procedures, personal protective equipment, and reasonable precautions, all risks of injury cannot be eliminated.
I knowingly and voluntarily assume, on behalf of myself and my child, the risks associated with participation in the Program, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable, except to the extent California law does not permit such risks to be assumed or released.
4. Safety Rules, PPE, Tools, and Participation
I agree that my child will follow all safety instructions, procedures, and rules provided by Wired Young staff.
I understand that my child may be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and other PPE required for a particular activity.
Tools and materials may only be handled or used when authorized and supervised by Wired Young staff.
I understand that Wired Young staff may modify, restrict, stop, or prohibit my child’s participation in any activity if staff determines that continued participation creates a safety concern.
If I do not want my child to participate in any specific activity, demonstration, or hands-on portion of the Program, I agree to notify Wired Young staff before the activity begins.
5. Parent/Guardian Presence — Not a Drop-Off Event
I understand that Wired Young is not a drop-off event and that a parent or legal guardian must remain on site for the entire workshop.
A designated seating area with tables and chairs may be provided for parents, guardians, and accompanying family members.
Any sibling, guest, or other child who is not registered for the Program must remain under the direct supervision of their parent or guardian at all times.
Unregistered children may not participate in workshop activities unless they are properly registered.
Unregistered children and guests may not run through, enter, interfere with, or remain in tool stations, workshop areas, demonstration areas, equipment areas, or other restricted spaces.
Parents and guardians are responsible for the conduct and supervision of all unregistered children and guests accompanying them.
6. Release and Waiver of Claims
To the fullest extent permitted by California law, I, individually and on behalf of my child, heirs, representatives, successors, and assigns, release and discharge the Released Parties from claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or relating to participation in the Program, including claims arising from the ordinary negligence of a Released Party.
I understand that this release is intended to be as broad as permitted by California law.
This Agreement does not purport to release liability for gross negligence, reckless or intentional misconduct, or any other liability that California law prohibits from being waived. California law generally does not permit recreational releases to eliminate liability for future gross negligence.
7. Medical Treatment, First Aid, and Emergency Response
In the event of an injury, illness, or other medical emergency, I authorize Wired Young staff to provide reasonable basic first aid using available first-aid supplies.
I understand that Wired Young staff are not acting as physicians, nurses, or other medical providers and will not diagnose medical conditions or provide treatment beyond reasonable basic first aid within the training and ability of the person assisting.
I understand that Wired Young’s policy is to call 911 whenever staff reasonably believes an injury, illness, or other situation may require emergency medical evaluation or assistance.
Wired Young staff will not administer prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, supplements, injections, or other medications to participants.
If my child requires an inhaler, EpiPen, prescription medication, or other medically necessary item, I understand that I am responsible for remaining on site, maintaining possession of that item, and administering it to my child as needed.
If emergency medical services are contacted, I authorize emergency responders and licensed medical professionals to evaluate and provide treatment to my child as they reasonably determine necessary.
Wired Young will make reasonable efforts to notify the parent, guardian, or emergency contact listed on the registration as soon as practicable.
I accept responsibility for ambulance, emergency room, physician, hospital, medication, or other medical expenses incurred on behalf of my child except to the extent such expenses are legally the responsibility of a Released Party.
8. Health, Allergies, and Participant Information
I agree to provide accurate information concerning my child’s known food allergies, medical conditions, physical limitations, sensory needs, safety concerns, or other information reasonably relevant to participation.
I agree to notify Wired Young before the workshop begins of any known food allergies, health or safety considerations, participation restrictions, or other relevant information that was not already disclosed during registration.
I understand that Wired Young cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
9. Food and Snacks
I understand that snacks may be provided during the event.
I am responsible for informing Wired Young of any known food allergy or dietary concern involving my child before the workshop begins.
I understand that food may have been manufactured, packaged, prepared, or served in environments where common allergens are present.
If I have concerns regarding a particular snack or food item, I may instruct my child not to consume it and may provide an appropriate alternative if permitted by the venue.
10. Behavior and Removal From Activities
I agree that my child will comply with reasonable instructions regarding PPE, tool use, movement between stations, activity boundaries, and restricted areas.
I understand that repeated unsafe behavior, refusal to follow safety instructions, aggressive behavior, or conduct that places the participant or others at risk may result in removal from a specific activity or the Program.
11. Personal Property and Damage
I understand that Wired Young is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property except to the extent liability cannot legally be disclaimed.
To the extent permitted by law, I accept responsibility for intentional or reckless damage caused by myself, my child, or guests under my supervision to Program tools, equipment, materials, or venue property.
12. Photography and Video Notice
I understand that Wired Young events may be photographed and video recorded.
I understand that separate photo and video permission will be requested during registration, and declining media permission will not prevent my child from participating in the Program.
If media permission is declined, I understand that Wired Young may use a discreet identifying marker on my child’s name badge so staff and photographers can more easily identify participants who should not be intentionally photographed or recorded.
Wired Young will make reasonable efforts to avoid intentionally capturing or publicly using identifiable images of a child whose parent or guardian declined media permission.
13. Accompanying Adults, Siblings, and Guests
I accept responsibility for myself and any unregistered children or guests accompanying me.
I agree that those individuals will follow venue rules, safety instructions, designated seating arrangements, restricted-area rules, and directions provided by Wired Young staff.
I understand that unregistered children must remain supervised and are not permitted to run around the premises or interfere with the workshop.
14. Indemnification
To the extent permitted by applicable law, I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from third-party claims, damages, or expenses arising from my own conduct, the conduct of guests or unregistered children under my supervision, or a material violation of Program safety rules by me or those individuals.
This provision is not intended to shift or waive liability that California law does not permit to be shifted or waived.
15. Event Changes, Weather, and Cancellation
I understand that Wired Young may modify workshop activities or schedules when reasonably necessary because of weather, safety concerns, venue conditions, staffing, equipment availability, or circumstances outside its reasonable control.
Event cancellation, postponement, transfer, credit, and refund rights will be governed by the separately disclosed Terms + Cancellation Policy accepted during registration.
16. Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain effective to the maximum extent permitted by law.
17. California Law
This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California.
18. Parent/Guardian Authority and Voluntary Agreement
I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian of the registered minor participant, or otherwise have legal authority to enter into this Agreement on the participant’s behalf.
I acknowledge that I have had an opportunity to read this Agreement before signing it.
I understand that this Agreement affects legal rights and includes an assumption of risk and release of certain claims.
I acknowledge that I am signing this Agreement voluntarily.
BY SIGNING BELOW, I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THIS AGREEMENT AND AGREE TO ITS TERMS FOR MYSELF AND, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ON BEHALF OF MY CHILD.
